Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountains.”

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
For further details contact NPWS Hunter Region.
Telephone 02 4984 8200.
Temporary closure of Lavis Lane access track & Stockton Bight Recreational Vehicle Area (26 July - 19 September 2010).
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service on behalf of the Worimi Conservation Lands (WCL) Board of Management, will be carrying out a major upgrade of the four wheel drive and quad bike access tracks off Lavis Lane at Williamtown.
• The Lavis Lane access road will be closed. Four wheel drive access to Stockton Beach during this time will only be available via the northern entrance off Gan Gan Road at Anna Bay.
• There will be no access for conditionally registered vehicles to the WCL.
• The Stockton Bight Recreational Vehicle Area will be CLOSED to all non-commercial, conditionally registered recreational vehicles (quad bikes, trikes and motor bikes).
These essential works have been scheduled outside of school holiday periods to minimise disruption to visitors, and while the temporary closures may inconvenience some visitors, when the track re-opens it will be significantly better for all users.
Current ‘Recreational Vehicle Area’ permit holders:
The WCL Board of Management accepts the work will cause temporary inconvenience to some Recreational Vehicle Area Users, and will provide one free annual WCL recreational Vehicle Permit (RVP) to any owner of a conditionally registered vehicle for use on Stockton Beach, that is disadvantaged by the closure and holds a current 2010 RVP valid during the closure.
To claim your free 12 month Recreational Vehicle Permit, you need to provide your RTA conditional registration certificate and RVP that was current during the RVA closure period, to the NPWS Hunter Region office at 12B Teramby Road, Nelson Bay. Telephone 02 4984 8200 during office hours for further details.
